OSMOSE releases an enhanced engineering process for IEC61850 standard

Within OSMOSE, a dedicated task in WP7 addresses the IEC61850 standard on communication protocols for intelligent electronic devices at electrical substations.

The task aims to demonstrate an interoperable and efficient IEC61850 engineering process, through different specification and configuration tools and with an implementation in a demonstrator with products from different vendors. This engineering process defines a way to come from a general substation system specification to an engineered and working electrical substation.

Deliverable D7.1 describes the IEC61850 engineering process, as it is proposed by the ENTSO-E IEC61850 taskforce and further defined and enhanced by OSMOSE. It also introduces the ENTSO-E profile (data model + engineering process concept), its goal and role within OSMOSE.

More details about the ENTSO-E profile enhancements related to the data model will be available in the next public deliverable (D7.2 and 7.3) to be released in end 2020 and mid 2021.
