At AEIT 2021 conference in next October, OSMOSE WP5 will hold a special session on flexibility provision from DSR, RES power plants and the grid itself
Work Package 5 is the Italian demonstrator of OSMOSE project, under the H2020-LCE-2017-SGS call. The demonstrator aims to test and analyse the techno-economic feasibility of multiple flexibility sources on a real operation environment: in a grid portion affected by severe congestions and voltage stability issues, ancillary services from wind farms and industrial sites (Demand Side Response) have been tested together with new forecasting models and innovative Dynamic Thermal Rating devices in a coordinated approach, thanks to a new Zonal Energy Management System developed uniquely for the demonstration activities. This AEIT session will illustrate some of the experimentation results, which can hopefully lead to useful insights on the actual possibility of exploiting new flexibility sources coming from the Energy Transition, so that Transmission System Operators can operate the power system within security conditions without economical repercussion on end users.
